New Shoots Publishing was born from the desire to provide fun and intentional Early Childhood content & ideas to whanau, teachers and the tamariki of New Zealand.

We take care of historic titles from Playcentre Publications and Ako Books, as well as developing and publishing our very own books.

Playcentre Publications has been publishing Early Childhood Education books since 1974. In 2012 Playcentre Publications Ltd. became an independent social enterprise publishing company under the new brand - Ako Books. New Shoots Publishing took over the wheel to continue to provide the best titles in Early Childhood Education and enhance our offering to teachers, children and their whanau.
